Field of Research
In the chemical industry energy efficiency and shorter productions times become more and more important for success in the global market. A possibility to achieve both aspects is the concept of a module-based planning process utilizing modular equipment. Therefore the research project „modulares Equipment für die energieeffiziente Produktion“ as a part of the “ENPRO-Initative” has been set up. In this project together with industry partners modular equipment for chemical plants will be designed, considering the equipment’s function in the process, its costs and energy efficiency. This modular approach enables reuse of equipment that has already been engineered for another process. The designed modular equipment shall be used in one engineering tool for the whole planning process from basic to detail engineering.
