From March 4 to 6, 2026, the annual conference of the DECHEMA/VDI Crystallization and Drying Technology Divisions took place in Frankfurt. The crystallization group participated with 5 presentations.

In the opening plenary session, Marc Meier gave a a presentation about "The Interplay of Washing and Drying within the Modular Continuous Vacuum Screw Filter (CVSF) for High-Purity, Free-Flowing Particles" as part of the Drying Technology Working Group.

As part of the Crystallization Working Group, Henrik Bettin presented his results about „Implementation of Continuous Reliable Antisolvent Nucleation in an Archimedes Tube Crystallizer“. Maximilian Kattner discussed with the participants about his results about „Implementation of Model Predictive Control to Continuous Slug Flow Crystallization“. In the context of Suspension Melt Crystallization, Lutz Gerkensmeier gave talk about "Wash front sharpness as a key performance indicator of a wash column in the suspension melt crystallization process" and Jonas Brodmann about "Validation of a Control Model for a Mechanical Wash Column in Suspension Melt Crystallization". Finally, Lukas Seppelfricke presented his results concerning „Towards sustainable and robust production of highly pure bis(2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate (BHET) crystals“.

Lutz received the lecture award at the Crystallization Working Group meeting. Congratulations!
